Importance of regular exams in all cats

by Alex Weber, DVM on 11/13/13

Preventative exams are essential for all cats.

Even if your cats live the good life indoors and appear healthy, it is extremely important to have them seen by a veterinarian yearly in order to help them live a long and happy life. Our domesticated cats have inherited the ability from their big cat relatives to hide symptoms of disease (ex. cats generally do not show symptoms from kidney disease until 75% of the kidney function is damaged).  Our cat vets in Tampa feel yearly exams are very important for early detection of treatable / preventable illnesses. Just as in human medicine, early detection can make treatment much easier and help your cat live a longer, healthier life.  If it's been awhile since your feline family member has been seen by a veterinarian, and you live in the Tampa area, call our cat veterinary clinic to schedule their preventive exam and let us help keep your feline family member healthy.
